Jos Buttler-led England clinched three-match T20I series against home side Australia by defeating the host in the first two games of the series. As the final T20 international washed out due to rain, England took the series home along with a lot of confidence, just a few nights ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022.

For his incredible batting display in the bilateral contest, Buttler was bestowed with the Player of the Series award as he smashed two half-centuries in the first and third games of the series.

The 32-year-old right-handed batter amassed 150-runs in three innings with an impressive average of 75 capped by a staggering strike rate of 174.42. While Buttler dominated the series with his incredible batting, the England skipper got a lot of assistance from the 35-year-old left-handed batter Dawid Malan who added 107-runs under his belt in three innings, including 82 off 49 deliveries in the second T20 international.

The World number 6 batter in this format has been in amazing form this year as he has already scored 453-runs in 15 innings with a strike rate of 142.90. While the bilateral contest got wrapped with rain playing a spoiler in the third T20 international, a video has been going viral on social media where Australian great Michael Hussey compared Malan with Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and India's batting great Virat Kohli.

As Malan was playing his 50th international T20 game, Hussey presented him with a special cap before praising him for his incredible show on the international stage.

"Congratulation to Mal, who is playing his 50th game for England today. Obviously, a lot of highlights in your career already - one being smashing four centuries for England, second highest-scorer ever in the history of T20 cricket, right behind Alex Hales, being number one player in the world and also the fastest ever to 1000 runs, better than Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, I believe, quicker by a few games,” he said.

The Australian batting great who has been added to the England coaching staff ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022 also wished 'hope you have a World Cup winning medal around your neck in about a month of time.'

England is placed alongside Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan, A1 and B2 in the Group 1 of the T20 World Cup 2022. Jos Buttler-led side will start its World Cup campaign against Afghanistan on October 22 (Saturday) in Perth Stadium.
