The 2022 season of the Chinese Super League has been full of incredible moments and dominant performances. This year China’s premier football contest kicked off on 3 June but after constant stoppages due to the pandemic, the tournament returned to the home and away competition system from the 11th round on 5 August 2022.

This season has seen the rise of the Wuhan Three Towns who have ruled the roost with a powerful team topped up with a formidable attack. The CSL follows a different format where the tournament is divided into multiple stages. In the first stage, the 18 teams were divided into three groups with each group playing all matches at centralised venues.

The next stage will see the top teams from each group qualify for the knockout stage which will eventually crown the champion and ensure qualification for the AFC Champions League. Whereas the teams that finished second and third will enter the Champions League qualification. The season will conclude on 17 December 2022.
