After being ruled out of the South Africa ODIs, fresh reports have emerged which suggest that Deepak Chahar has also been ruled out of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. While Chahar was not part of the main squad, he had been included in the list of standby players. However, the pacer will not be able to recover in time for the marquee event.

It is further being learnt that Shardul Thakur might replace Chahar among the reserves, although official confirmation from the BCCI is still awaited. Thakur, along with Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami, is expected to board the flight to Australia on Thursday.
