It is a day every Namibia player and fan will remember for a long time. The side registered a 55-run win against Asia Cup champions Sri Lanka and stunned the cricketing world. Sri Lanka were favourites coming into this match but the Namibia players out shined the Sri Lankans and registered a big win to move to top of Group A.

After the historic win, the Namibian players were seen forming a huddle along with the support staff and shared an emotional moment together. Few players were seen in tears after the completion of the match.

After being put to bat, Namibia were struggling to post a good total as they lost half their side under 100 runs. However, Jan Frylinck and JJ Smith punished Sri Lankan bowlers at the death as they took Namibia to 163 in 20 overs. Frylinck was the top scorer for the Namibia with a fluent 41.

In reply, Sri Lanka had a horrible start as they lost first 3 wickets inside 4 overs. Skipper Dasun Shanaka (29) and Bhanuka Rajapaksa (20) tried to steady the ship and counter attacked for few overs but couldn’t kept going. In the end, they got bundled out for mere 108.
