Just a day left to the final of the T20 World Cup 2022. It will be Pakistan going against England in the summit clash to end their trophy drought in an ICC tournament. The two nations will be once again against each other after the 1992 finale in the ICC tournament at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

But in a big update ahead of the final, the Pakistan cricket team kept a  'roza' ahead of the crucial day. This decision by the team was taken seeing the similar situation during the 1992 world event.

Notably, in 1992, Pakistan players were playing the World Cup during Ramzan and this time, the Pakistan team decided to keep roza seeing the other similarities. The team in 1992 had decided to open their fast only after the game.

Likewise, the team Down Under follow the same trend and open the fast, hoping it Pakistan lifts the trophy, similar to the 1992 50-over World Cup win.

Pakistan skipper was also asked about the resemblance to the 1992 tournament in the pre-match press conference.

“Ofcourse, the similarities are there. We will try to win the trophy, it is a big honour for me to lead this team and especially at this big ground. We will try to give our 100 per cent and win.”

In both the 1992 and 2022 World Cups, Pakistan began their campaign with a loss at the Melbourne Criket Ground. In both tournaments, Pakistan suffered a defeat against India also. Also, in both the tournament, Pakistan earned a semifinal berth by a single point on the last day of the league stage.
