We have reached the end of the T20 World Cup 2022. Ahead of the start of the summit clash between Pakistan and England, excitement is already in the air. The two teams notably last faced each other in the ICC tournament finale in 1992 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground itself.

Ahead of the start, the Jos Buttler-led side were seen wearing black armbands. As the players walked out in the middle, they were seen sporting black armbands. This left fans wondering about the reason for the same.

Well, the players are wearing black armbands in tribute to David English, who passed away last night aged 76. English is considered Godfather of England cricket.

Jos Buttler, who is leading England in the first World Cup event took to Twitter to express grief on the demise of David English earlier. "So sad to hear the news of David English passing away. One of life's great characters, so fun to spend time with and producer of some of the best English cricketers through his wonderful Bunbury festivals. RIP", he wrote.
