After a win over Australia in their first of the two ICC Warm-up fixtures ahead of their T20 World Cup opener against Pakistan on October 23, India will play New Zealand in their second and final practice match on Wednesday. And the latest news is that the Rohit Sharma-led contingent might rest Suryakumar Yadav for this match. Not only has SKY been among India's most prolific run-getters in the build-up to this tournament but the team would also want him well-rested and raring to go for the big matches ahead.

Meanwhile, it is also being reported that either Deepak Hooda or Rishabh Pant might get a chance in the Playing XI with Suryakumar vacating a sport. The other possibility being mulled is that both Hooda and Pant are included in the team with one of the top 3- Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul or Virat Kohli sitting out for this match.

Notably, this will also be the last practice match for New Zealand who could include Devon Conway and Jimmy Neesham who both missed out from their XI when the BlackCaps received a thrashing at the hands of South Africa in their earlier warm-up fixture.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma while addressing the media said that he has his Playing XI ready for the T20 World Cup game against Pakistan. He said that he does not believe in making last-minute changes and has also informed the players who will play the big game.

“I don’t believe in last-minute decisions. We want to keep our boys informed about team selection before so that they can prepare early. I already have my XI for the Pakistan match. Already those players are informed," he said.

"We understand the importance of the India vs Pakistan match but there is no point in talking every time, even when we met during Asia Cup, we keep talking about the families, which cars do you have," he added.
