The UEFA Europa League (UEL) 2022-23 is the 52nd season of Europe's secondary club competition, which kicked off on August 4, 2022, with its qualifying stage while the group stage started from September 8. The knockout stage runs from February 16, 2023, until the final on May 31, 2023.
This is the 14th season of the club competition since it was rebranded from UEFA Cup to UEFA Europa League. The UEL group stage was reduced from 48 to 32 teams after the introduction of the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2021-22.
For the group stage, the teams are divided into eight groups of four with the eight group winners progressing automatically to the round of 16, joined by eight third-ranked teams from the UEFA Champions League groups. The winners of the previous season, Eintracht Frankfurt automatically qualify for the UEFA Champions League 2022-23 group stage.
