While the Men in Blue will kickstart their South Africa tour from December 10, the Women in Blue are taking on England Women at home in a three-match T20I series. While the first match of the three-match series didn’t go their way at the Wankhede Stadium, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will aim to level the series in the second match, set to be played on Saturday, 9 December at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

However, in a video going viral from the first T20I between India and England Women, a young fan broke in tears after she was denied meeting her idol, India women skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur. A group of fans who were expressing admiration for Harmanpreet and Jemimah and were looking forward to get autographs from them, were eventually denied on the meeting, leaving one of them in tears.

Notably one of the fans from the group was also seen carrying a poster for the Indian skipper which read, “Seven Harmanpreet Kaur”.

Talking about the match, the Women in Blue won the toss and invited the Heather Knight-led side to bat first. On the back of a brilliant 77-run knock from Nat Sciver-Brunt along with a crucial 75 runs off 47 from Danielle Wyatt, the visitors posted 197 at the loss of six wickets in the 20 overs. While Renuka Singh Thakur had three scalps from four overs, Shreyanka Patil had two wickets to her name. The Women in Blue fell just short of 38 runs to chase the total as they were restricted to 159/6 inside 20 overs.
