The Thailand women scripted historic win as they defeated Pakistan for the first time in th eir history. Playing the 10th match of the Women’s Asia Cup, Thailand chased down the 116-run total in a nail-biting finish with one ball to spare. Led by Natthakan Chantham’s scintillating 61, the Thai team showed resilience and character to win their first match of the Asia Cup. 


After hitting the winning runs, the entire Thailand women’s team rushed onto the middle to celebrate this historic feat. The video was posted by the Asian Cricket Council's social media handles where the players are seen jumping with joy after creating history. With this win, Thailand has brought a new twist to the top-4 race.

The Thailand captain, Naruemol Chaiwai, was overjoyed with the team’s win and especially praised the team’s bowling attack for a splendid performance. She said, “Pakistan are a strong side, we want to win against every team, at this moment we want to enjoy and the win will come automatically. No specific plan, the same plan every day. The last two games we did not bowl the correct line or length, but today we did it.”


Similarly, the Player of the match, Natthakan Chantham was extremely proud of her performance and talked about how she stuck to her basics as to tackle Pakistan spinners. She said, “Looking to enjoy the game, play with the target in hand and just complete the game. Play according to the ball was my plan. Pakistan made me work hard as they are very good with spin.”
