England came out on top in the all-important semifinal game against India on Thursday (November 10) at the Adelaide Oval. With injury concerns in their camp and star pacer Mark Wood and Dawid Malan both missing out this crucial game, the Three Lions went on to destroy the Indian side on this day.
While Chris Jordan shone with the ball, it was the openers Jos Buttler and Alex Hales who wreaked havoc in the second innings. Both the English openers scored a brilliant half-century to register a thumping 10-wicket win over India. With this, they have advance into the final of the tournament.
However, everyone wanted another India - Pakistan clash in the final of the T20 World Cup 2022 after the former beat the Men in Green in their opening game of the tournament. Even the Pakistan cricketers and their fans hoped for a final between the abovementioned side, Jos Buttler had a different reply when asked about it in the post-match press conference.
The England skipper said, “We spoiled the party” with a cheeky smile. England will now go head-to-head with Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022 Final, which is scheduled to take place on November 13, 2022 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
