The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League is nearing its playoff stage as each team has played at least nine matches in the league. In the IPL 2024 standings, RR are comfortable leading the charts with eight wins in nine matches followed by KKR, who have won six of their nine matches.  CSK, SRH, and LSG are at the 3rd, 4th, and 5th positions respectively with 10 points each while DC also have 10 points but in two more matches (11).

The Kolkata Knight Riders registered a comfortable seven-wicket win over the Delhi Capitals to end their poor run of form at home. The Capitals hit a collapse as they lost three quick wickets before being reduced to 93-5 in the 11th over. The second half of the DC innings was marred with wickets barring the end where Kuldeep Yadav chipped in with a score of 35 to help post a total of 153. For KKR, Varun Chakaravarthy picked up 3-16 while Harshit Rana and Vaibhav Arora picked up two wickets each. During the chase,  Phil Salt's 33-ball 68 helped KKR seal the win in the 16.3 overs.
