Mohammed Siraj was at his best against New Zealand in the third T20I played on Tuesday in Napier. In fact, the pacer has been phenomenal on the tour so far. In the two T20Is the pacer has played, Siraj has bagged six wickets at the expense of 41 runs in his eight overs. While Siraj scalped two wickets in the second T20I, he dismissed four New Zealand batters in the third T20I played on Tuesday (22 November).

He dismissed Mark Chapman for his first wicket of the match. The right-arm pacer then sent back hard-hitting Glenn Phillips for his second scalp. Jimmy Neesham became his third victim with Santner handing a catch to Chahal to bring Siraj’s 4-fer. The pacer looked in great rhythm throughout his spell. Siraj was hitting the length right and was also mixing it well.

Not only in this series, but Siraj has been performing well throughout this year in white-ball cricket. The pacer has scalped 18 wickets in 12 ODIs while Siraj has taken seven wickets in four T20Is he has played this year. Siraj has contained the flow of runs as well. While he has maintained an economy of 4.7 in ODIs, the right-arm quick has conceded 6.7 runs on average in T20Is.

With Siraj being in a great rhythm, fans were left confused about the selectors and Indian management’s decision to ignore the pacer for the T20 World Cup 2022.
