With less than 1 days to go for the start of the IPL 2022 Mega Auctions, the excitement is unprecedented and lot of people's eye balls will be on which player will be sold for the highest price in the Mega Auction. After 2011, a tournament with 10 teams in IPL has created a huge buzz among cricket lovers. Looking at past auction stats, the highest bid for a player in each IPL season has seen a humongous increase in value. Here in this article, we will have a look at two players who went onto be the expensive buys in an IPL auction for two consecutive seasons.
1. Yuvraj Singh
In 2014 IPL auction, Yuvraj Singh was bought by RCB for a whooping sum of 14 Crores and he became the most expensive buy in that auction. In that season, Yuvi smashed 376 runs at an impressive strike rate of 135.25 and picked 5 wickets with the ball as well. Again in 2015 IPL auction, Yuvraj Singh became the most expensive buy in the auction history by getting sold for a big price of 16 Crores to Delhi Capitals. However in 2015 IPL season, the world cup winning all-rounder failed to make an impact with both bat and ball.
2. Ben Stokes

Similar to Yuvraj Singh, Ben Stokes has been the most expensive buy in IPL auction 2017 & 2018 consecutively. In IPL 2017, Ben Stokes was bought for a huge amount of 14.5 Crores by Rising Pune Super Giants and in 2018 he was bought by Rajasthan Royals in the mega auction for the price money of 12.5 Crores. Much similar to Yuvraj Singh, Stokes also had a decent IPL season during 2017 but his performance in IPL 2018 ended up being a disappointment.
Interestingly, both the all-rounders, Yuvraj Singh and Ben Stokes have played a huge part for their country to lift the World Cup trophy in 2011 & 2019 respectively.
