Ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have revealed the jersey they will be donning this edition. Their outfit not only looks attractive but will even have a positive impact on the society. The new CSK T-shirt boasts of being made completely with only recycled plastic. As many as 15 plastic bottles are recycled to make a single Chennai jersey, thereby reducing the carbon emissions by 270 grams. Yet another fascinating characteristic of the Yellow Brigade's jersey this year is that the polyester used in it consumes 90% less water.

New jersey features features camouflage print

As a tribute to the Indian armed forced, the new jersey, sponsored by Myntra, also features camouflage on the shoulders. "It has been on our mind for some time now to find ways to raise awareness about the significant and selfless role of the armed forces. The camouflage is an appreciation of their service; they are the true heroes," CSK CEO KS Viswanathan was quoted as saying. Moreover, it should be noted that CSK skipper MS Dhoni's love and respect for the army is well-known.

Chennai's forgettable run in IPL 2020

The Dhoni-led side had a forgettable run in the 2020 season of the mega event. They were the first team to be out of the playoff race. IPL 2020 was the first time Chennai failed to make it through to the business end of an IPL season in which it participated. CSK mustered six wins in 14 matches and finished at the seventh place with 12 points in 2020. With Suresh Raina set to make a comeback for them this year and a few handy additions at the players' auction, the three-time champions would be eager to make a strong comeback.
