Preview

South Africa take on Pakistan in this 3-match ODI series, starting from the 2nd of April. Both teams are quality cricketing sides and have fielded a strong squad. Plenty of exciting action will be on display. The two teams met a while back in Pakistan and South Africa had dwindling fortunes in that series.

Pakistan skipper and best batsman Babar Azam, will have to fight out his off-field distractions and keep them aside during this important tour. Spearheading the team, Babar would definitely have the World Cup 2023 in his reckoning. It is thus very important for Pakistan to start building up the momentum. Pakistan have a good chance of winning the T20 series and the last leg of the ODI series as the major chunk of South Africa’s main players leave for the IPL in India.

This will be Temba Bavuma’s debut series as a captain and he would definitely feel the pressure and heat after the 2nd ODI as the likes of Rabada, De Kock, Miller and Nortje leave for the IPL. A depleted Proteas side should have been the last thing on Bavuma’s plate but then this will again help the youngsters to prove their authority.
