After a thrilling T20I series where West Indies won 2-1 over Sri Lanka, the action now shifts to 3-match ODI series. The opener will be played on Wednesday and the stage is set for another exciting contest between the two sides.
Both the sides met for a 3-match ODI series last year where Sri Lanka completed a clean sweep quite convincingly. While the whole world has changed since that time, Sri Lanka's fortunes have also taken a nosedive. After losing consecutive Test series against South Africa and England, the Lankans fell short in the recently-concluded T20I series.
On the other hand, West Indies also suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Bangladesh. However, they have got back a full-strength squad and they are looking a lethal side on paper.
