Analysis:

New Zealand had lost the T20I series 1-2 and the ODI series 3-0 in November 2020 and they would be itching to seek revenge from their Trans-Tasman rivals. Lea Tahuhu is making a comeback after her hamstring lay-off and Suzie Bates will be missing out on this series. Brooke Halliday is in terrific form and is a must-pick.

The biggest positive for Australia women is star-allrounder Ellyse Perry’s availability. She has not played international cricket for a year because of a hamstring injury which she sustained last year during the T20 World Cup. However, Australia will be missing the services of Annabel Sutherland and Molly Strano has been named as a replacement. The squad will be led by Meg Lanning.
