In a shocking incident from Mumbai's Dharavi, a 26-year-old Kabaddi player was allegedly beaten to death with a cricket stump on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. The deceased was identified as Vimalraj Nadar, who is survived by his parents and siblings.

The Dharavi police have arrested three accused in the case. Two of them were arrested after they confessed to the crime during interrogation while the third was arrested on Sunday. One of the accused was arrested by the police somewhere near his house and he has been identified as Mallesh Chitankadi (32) as reported by ANI.

The cause of the fight that has led to the brutal killing is not known as the police are still interrogating the case and are yet to make any statement. However, reports suggest that Vimalraj was killed over enmity in the past. The police have registered the case under IPC Section 302.

Meanwhile, the family, friends, and the locals are protesting outside the Dharavi police station as they demand for justice.

Three months earlier, a kabaddi player was shot dead outside Punjabi University in Patiala after a clash with a group of men on Tuesday night, April 5. Dharminder Singh, who was also active in politics, was a native of Don Kalan village and the president of the kabaddi club there.
