Drama! Drama! Drama! This is how the 3-match ODI series between West Indies and Sri Lanka commenced in Antigua. As the two teams get set for the second contest on Friday, one just cannot forget the sequence of events that took place in the series opener.

The visitors started off brilliantly on Wednesday, with openers Karunaratne and Gunathilaka playing some delightful shots. However, it was skipper Kieron Pollard who brought the spice in the contest. Firstly, it was West Indies skipper's brilliant catch to dismiss his counterpart that became the key highlight of the match. But, the focus shifted from players to umpires in no time.

Pollard and Co. made an appeal against Gunathilaka when the Sri Lanka batsman had deflected the ball in an attempt to go back to the crease. Although it looked quite unintentional, the third umpire thought otherwise and shockingly deemed the Sri Lanka opener out for obstructing the field. The incident turned out to be a match-deciding decision as the visitors completely lost the plot after that. They suffered a major collapse from 112/1 to 230/10.

Shai Hope's brilliant 110-run knock powered Windies to a comfortable win in the end. While things seemed to have cooled down in both the camps, it would certainly be interesting to see if Sri Lanka can bounce back from the setback in the first ODI. While they would try their best to forget everything and get back in the series, Pollard's men will come into this contest with a sole aim to seal the series.
