Date: 14th March 2021

Time: 7:00 PM (IST)

Venue: Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

Preview:

The Indian team across all formats has set a template for themselves. Lose the first match of a series and then just spring like a tiger and pounce on your opponent with full vigor and tear them apart. This was on display in the Australia tour and in the Test series leg of the ongoing England tour of India. Thus, it is imperative for everyone to not rule India out and to expect that magic will be woven out at Ahmedabad.

A lot of players looked rusty and Virat Kohli mentioned in the post-match presentation that switching gears from one format to the other is not tough and they have done it in the past. Thus it is a matter of time before this strong Indian line-up stages a comeback. This series is also very important for Team India as these 5 T20Is are the only T20I games they will be playing ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup, later this year.

On the other hand, it didn’t look like it was the same England team that were outclassed by Team India a short while ago. Yes there were some new additions to the T20I squad but some players seamlessly switched from one format to the other. Jofra Archer had fire in his belly and bagged the man of the match award for the 3 crucial wickets he had taken.

Team News

India:

Rohit Sharma was rested for the initial matches and that really costed Team India. However it is likely that Team India will go with the same team. They might make a small change by bringing an extra pacer for a spinner but that is highly unlikely.

England:

England are expected to not tinker with their winning combination. If there are any injury updates, we will update you at the earliest.
