After a nail-biting contest in the first T20I of the 3-match series between Pakistan and South Africa, it’s now time for the second match of the series at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.
It was a hard-fought encounter between the two sides on Friday as Pakistan edged a narrow three-run win. While most of the Pakistan batsmen struggled to score runs, wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan continued his terrific run of form and smashed an unbeaten century (104* off 64). Skipper Babar Azam was unluckily run-out on a duck and will be looking to bounce back with a big knock in the second match. Although South Africa fell short of the 170-run target by only three runs, there were a lot of positives for the Proteas’ side. Opening batsmen Janneman Malan (44 off 29) and Reeza Hendricks (54 off 42) were superb at top of the order while Bjorn Fortuin also impressed everyone with his all-round skills.
With so much to play for, the stage is perfectly set for another mouth-watering clash between Pakistan and South Africa. While the hosts will look to seal the series with a win, the visitors will come out all guns blazing to take the series into a decider.
