The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 saw Mumbai Indians clinch their record fifth title after a closely fought tournament staged at the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is now getting things underway to get the next edition of the biggest T20 spectacle back in its home country as the Coronavirus situation is getting better every day.

The IPL mini-auction is scheduled to happen in Chennai on February 18 as teams look to add a few players in the squad to make it tournament ready. International and domestic leagues around the globe are gradually starting to resume and with the return of cricket, the talent scouts must have marked their men which they can include in their side in the forthcoming auctions.

Here are 3 international stars who can be roped in by IPL franchises for significant sums of money to don their colours in IPL 2021.

Moeen Ali could prove to be a key player and teams might look to include him in the upcoming IPL. The England all-rounder is not only a batsman who can bat in the top order but can give the captain a bankable bowling option. Franchises, who seem to be struggling with their balance, might opt for somebody like a Moeen who can play various roles as per the needs of the team.

Rajasthan Royals released their skipper Steve Smith ahead of this year's auctions and the former Australian captain can also attract massive interest from the franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Smith is a proven match-winner and there are speculations that a team like Chennai Super Kings can go ahead to rope him in but a lot would depend on the equation Smith shares with MS Dhoni.

3. Shakib Al Hasan

The Bangladesh all-rounder has made a return to competitive cricket and although he is yet to regain top form, he is too good a player to go unnoticed in the auctions. Shakib might even go on to earn huge money since the tournament in all probability might be played in India wherein spin-friendly conditions he can prove to be all the more potent.
