Analysis:
After South Africa stitched an eight wicket win in the first ODI, India seemed no match for their class and were also, fair to say, not pretty well prepared playing their first match in almost a year. However, the Indian women's team which turned for the second fixture looked a completely different unit. There was almost a role-reversal of sorts with even the toss going in India's favour as they opted to field first and completed a one-sided win.
So while the Mithali Raj-led side would look to win the match, building on the confidence from a dominant win, the visitors would want to get back to winning ways and produce a performance similar to the opening game. Even if a few wickets fall, the senior members of either teams would look to step up and stop the team from going down the hill and at least post a fighting total.
An honest assessment of the series will also capture how both matches were won not only by the better teams but also due to the mistakes committed by the opponents. An ODI where both the teams give their best can perhaps produce a thrilling test between two top quality international sides.
