England Women will host India Women for the third and the final ODI at the New Road One on Saturday. While the hosts have already won the first couple of matches to bag the series 2-0 with one match to go, they would sense an opportunity to complete a clean sweep. Meanwhile, the Indian side would look to bounce back and seal a consolation win in the final ODI of the series. Earlier, the Indian Women had earned a hard fought draw in the one-off Test match from a position where the hosts looked like they would win on the last day.

Team News

England Women:

England Women have already clinched the series after winning the first two matches and can afford to even rest some players. However, given the way they have been performing it is unlikely they would make too many changes within the settled XI.

India Women:

India Women have just not been able to get going and would need more from their senior players other than Mithali Raj who seems to be their lone warrior so far. We can expect a few changes from their side too.

Key Players:

Mithali Raj:

The India captain is the leading run getter in the series so far with 131 runs in 2 innings at an average of 65.50. Although her strike rate is in the mid 60s, that’s more due to the lack of support from the other end. Raj, will yet again be the key batter for India in the final ODI and if she gets support from the other batters, there is every reason to believe that the Indian side will sign off the series with a win.

Sophie Ecclestone:

She has been the most consistent bowler for England in the series picking three wickets each in both the innings with an overall economy of 3.65. She was in superb form in the one-off Test match against India. The England side would hope that she will be able to fetch a few more wickets in the final game and help them achieve a clean sweep.

Nat Sciver:

Sciver scored an unbeaten 74 in the 1st ODI and has also managed to pick up a wicket in the series so far. She would once again be the player to watch out for, bringing in her vast experience into the game as the English side are sensing a big feat of completing a 3-0 win.
