The two biggest talking points on November 30 in India have been - IPL 2022 Retentions and Parag Agarwal's appointment as CEO of Twitter. It isn't really surprising as both give a sense of pride to the citizens of the country. While one is a cricket league (launched in India) that has gone on to become the biggest across the globe, the other is about a fellow Indian making the country proud.

But something that is really intriguing about both the events is the astonishing involvement of money. IPL is the cash-rich league that has time and again come into the limelight for offering mega-blockbuster contracts to the players. Similarly, the position of CEO's Twitter is also expectedly quite a rewarding one.

Parag Agarwal will notably be paid a salary of 1 million dollars annually, which is around INR 7.5 crores. While the amount is huge, something that makes the whole situation incredibly astounding is the fact that there will be many cricketers who will be earning more than the new CEO of Twitter during IPL 2022.

Here is the list of 5 players who will earn more than INR 7.5 crores in IPL 2022:

1. Rohit Sharma

The captain of Mumbai Indians is the face of the franchise, having led them to 5 IPL titles. Rohit Sharma is set to be the first retention for MI for the next season, which is likely to fetch him a salary of around INR 16 crores. Hitman has been one of the highest-paid players in the tournament over the years and the trend is set to continue in IPL 2022 as well as he continues to lead the most successful franchise of the tournament.

2. Kane Williamson

The Kiwi is expected to be the only retention for Sunrisers Hyderabad, as negotiations with Rashid Khan has reportedly fallen apart. This would mean that Kane Williamson will possibly be paid a salary of around INR 14 crores by the franchise for next season. One of the main reasons behind him getting a huge contract is because of the fact that he will also be the permanent captain of SRH going forward, having taken over leadership duties from David Warner in IPL 2021.

3. Rishabh Pant

The explosive wicketkeeper is set to continue as captain of Delhi Capitals and is likely to be the first retention for them, getting him a contract of around INR 16 crores. The 24-year-old will be one of the youngest skippers in the next season of the tournament but considering how impressively he led the franchise after taking over from Shreyas Iyer, the decision by DC to offer him a blockbuster deal along with captaincy position looks quite a fair deal.

4. Ravindra Jadeja

The all-rounder is one of the best cricketers in world cricket right now, with a unique ability to contribute to all the departments. Jadeja was earning a salary of around INR 7 crores in previous seasons but he is set to get a big hike for next season. The 32-year-old is either set to be the first retention (if MS Dhoni opts out) or second, which will earn him a salary of either around INR 16 crores or INR 12 crores respectively.

5. Andre Russell

The West Indies all-rounder has had an injury-hit last couple of seasons with Kolkata Knight Riders but the franchise still values him very high considering what he can do on the field of cricket. Andre Russell has won various matches for the franchise over the years and he is certain to be among one of the top two retentions by KKR, alongside Sunil Narine. Hence, Russell is most likely to fetch a sum of either around INR 16 crores or INR 12 crores for IPL 2022.
