The movie was all set to release on April 10, 2020 but the date kept on postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, it has been confirmed that 83 will hit the cinema halls on December 24, 2021. The advance booking of tickets has already started online.

Yes! As the movie depicts India's legendary cricketers, cricket training was a crucial part before the filming of the movie began. Notably, the entire cast trained with former cricketers Balwinder Sandhu and Yashpal Sharma at a camp which was set at Dharamshala Cricket Ground in April 2019. Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh spent a lot of time with Kapil Dev to get a complete understanding of what he needed to do while enacting him. The actor was also seen learning the game from Dev in June 2019 before the shooting kicked off.

The shooting of the movie began on June 5, 2019, in England. The filming took place at various iconic locations like Glasgow, Dulwich College in London, Edinburgh cricket club, Nevill Ground at Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent and The Oval cricket ground.
