Former RCB batter AB de Villiers missed the ongoing 15th edition of the Indian Premier League after announcing retirement from all forms of cricket last year. Recently, the franchise has included him in RCB's Hall of Fame and honoured him for his services in the Indian Premier League. The South African batter has been a vital cog in the squad since 2011 and has won several games single-handedly.

Virat Kohli, who played alongside De Villiers for the franchise, confessed that he missed having the South African batter around in the Bangalore camp. In one of the recent chats, Kohli had hinted at the possibility of his closest mate, De Villiers, into the RCB unit for the next season but was quite sure about not playing as a player. "Did I spill the beans?" Kohli said in a video posted by RCB with a chuckle.

In a new development, De Villiers has confirmed that he will be part of the RCB set up next year, but in what capacity needs to be confirmed yet. He reportedly stressed that he is missing the passionate fans in Bangalore and felt the need to be back in the RCB set-up as the tournament is getting back to home venues for the franchises next year. "I am glad to hear that Virat confirmed it. We have not decided on anything yet. I will be around IPL next year. I am not sure in what capacity, but I am missing the IPL vibe," De Villiers told VUSport.

De Villiers further added that he has heard IPL matches will return to Bangalore, and he would love to return to his second hometown and watch the full capacity stadium there at Chinnaswamy again. "I would love to return; I am looking forward to it," he added. Speaking of Bangalore, the franchise has qualified for the playoff stage and will face Lucknow Super Giants on Wednesday (May 24) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
