Virat Kohli's lean patch with the bat has been the most consistent thing in Indian cricket over the past two years. The ex-India captain hasn't been able to score as many runs with the bat that does justice to his reputation as one of the best in the world and has hence received criticism from a group of fans and experts.

While Team India stunned England in the white-ball series and clinched the three-match T20I series, followed by the ODI series on the back of incredible performance from players like Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah among others, Virat Kohli continued his struggle with the bat and failed to chip in with a significant contribution.

With India's tour of England coming to an end, Virat Kohli has reportedly taken a break from the West Indies tour and is neither part of the ODI series nor the T20Is. Amid all this when Kohli posted an advertisement on social media, it irked the netizens who want him to come back to scoring loads for runs for India. "Ads se bhi rest le bhai," wrote one user.

Check out some of the reactions here:

Earlier, former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar criticized Indian senior players for taking a rest from the tours ahead of the ICC tournament. Gavaskar told SportsTak that these players don't take rest from IPL, but when it comes to bilateral tours they seek rest. "This is unacceptable," he said.

Even Irfan Pathan had tweeted that a player cannot find his form by resting, making an indirect reference to perhaps Kohli. Kohli is expected to be seen in national colours next in the Asia Cup 2022.
