The IPL 2022 Mega Auction saw a fierce bidding war between ten franchises to acquire the services of top players from around the globe. The two-day event witnessed large chunks of money being spent by franchises. While Ishan Kishan ended as the most expensive Indian player, England's Liam Livingstone was the most expensive overseas buy. Punjab Kings bought the English all-rounder for a whopping 11.5 CR.

While all of this was going on, there were a few people who were also guessing the bidding prices for some Pakistani cricketers. This also included the lanky pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi who had dismissed India's top three during the match between India and Pakistan at the 2021 T20 World Cup.

There is no doubt that a player of Afridi's caliber would have enticed an intense bidding war, but the price guessed by a Pak journalist seemed too much to Indian fans. A Pak sports journalist, Ihtisham Ul Haq, went on to write that: "If, Shaheen Shah Afridi was in #IPLAuction. He would’ve gone for 200 crores" on Twitter.

This tweet from Ihtisham did not go too well with the fans as one of them gave a hilarious reply to the Pak journo. A Twitter user with the name of Neeche se Topper suggested Ihtisham to give Shaheen Afridi to World Bank rather than auctioning him at IPL as this would help Pakistan clear their loans. "then better give shaheen shah afridi to world bank and clear your country's loans," he wrote.

Apart from this user, there were so many other hilarious comments as well on Ihtisham's post. "Kya baat kar reha hai? 200 Crore me to pure Pakistan ka auction ho jaayega bhai," wrote another user.
