It is not to be for Virat Kohli and Royal Challengers Bangalore yet again. While this time around it was a different captain at the helm for Bangalore and one may have thought that with Faf du Plessis taking over, the wait for their maiden title might come to an end but even Faf du Plessis has not been able to lead the side to win, at least in his first year in charge of the team.

They were sent out of title contention by Rajasthan Royals who invited them to bat first and first restricted them to 157/8 on a good surface at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, thanks to spells from Prasidh Krishna and Obed McCoy and later made a mockery of their score by chasing down the target in just 18.1 overs with 7 wickets in hand, thanks to Jos Buttler's fourth hundred of the season, as he ended with 106.*

As expected, social media was up with its meme game as the agony continued for Bangalore who enjoys a tremendous fan base despite not being able to clinch a trophy every year since 2008. It is a moment of pride for Rajasthan though who have reached their first final after 2008 which was when they went to lift the cup.
