With the IPL 2021 season just few days away, the fans have started to witness some great camaraderie between players across the nations. The beauty of the tournament is that it breaks all barriers in the world of cricket as legends across the globe get together share the same dressing room with each other. As the runners-up of last season Delhi Capitals gear up for the upcoming season, the franchise provided a moment to cherish for everyone on social media.

Ajinkya Rahane does 'shadow batting'

Delhi Capitals shared a video on Tuesday where their player Ajinkya Rahane can be seen doing some 'shadow batting' on the ground. The Indian cricketer looked absolutely focused as he was practicing a few hits like leg glance, pull-shot, forward-defense, etc. However, the social media admin of the franchise made full use of the opportunity and uploaded the video tagging Steve Smith on the post with a caption stating that the Aussie has got some stiff competition in the compulsive shadow batting department.

As DC tried to tease Smith with the caption, the Aussie hilariously replied, "Not sure anyone competes with me in this department." The comment has already received more than 1.5k likes as the fans really enjoyed the fun banter. The DC admin went a step ahead and challenged both Rahane and Smith to keep trying to get an edge over the other throughout the upcoming season.

It will be really interesting to see if the two legends of the game can continue providing some entertainment like this for the next two months. Both Rahane and Smith are also expected to play a major role in the leadership group of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021 with youngster Rishabh Pant handling the captaincy responsibilities. The franchise kick-off their campaign on April 10 against Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai.
