Veteran Indian leg-spinner Amit Mishra did not find a buyer for himself at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. However, that has not stopped him from religiously following the tournament. The former Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad spinner has been pretty active on social media expressing his views on various issues concerning the game and on Sunday during Chennai Super Kings' match against Delhi Capitals, Mishra was quick to spot a detail from the match and explain it for the fans.

While Dhoni was seen biting his bat before coming on the field to bat, Amit Mishra explained why the former India captain and current CSK leader does that. He disclosed that MSD wants his bat absolutely clean which is the reason he makes sure there is no thread or tape on his bat.

"In case you’re wondering why Dhoni often ‘eats’ his bat. He does that to remove tape of the bat as he likes his bat to be clean. You won’t see a single piece of tape or thread coming out of MS’s bat. #CSKvDC #TATAIPL2022," Mishra tweeted.

Dhoni entered the playing arena in the middle of a rousing reception from the fans and he did not disappoint during his stay at the 22-yards. The legendary finisher remained unbeaten on 21 from 8 balls with the help of 2 sixes and a boundary and helped his team cross the 200-run mark after Devon Conway (87 off 49) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (41 off 33) had helped the team off to a dream start by breaching 100 runs in 10 overs.

The Men in Yellow eventually finished at 208/6 after being asked to bat first by Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant. A win would be crucial for Chennai as they are still theoretically alive in the race to the Playoffs but have left themselves too much to do with 6 points from 10 matches.
