Ahead of IPL 2022, a new trend is being seen with players donning hairstyles to show their love for respective franchises they will be playing for this season. Just a few days back, Shimron Hetmyer’s ‘pink’ coloured hair for Rajasthan Royals had gone viral on internet. Similarly, Nitish Rana was also captured in ‘purple and gold’ hair representing Kolkata Knight Riders.
Now, the king of new hairstyles ‘Andre Russell’ has also made his entry to the trend, giving company to Nitish in the ‘KKR tribute’ hairstyle. As the 33-year-old arrived in Mumbai to join the franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders shared a clip of him which had a climax towards the end.
“Dre Russ is here! No need to fear! See my gold and purple hair,” said cricketer Russell in the video, while flaunting his new hairstyle. It was indeed a delightful surprise for KKR fans who would indeed be excited to see their star all-rounder fully-fit and re-energized ahead of the upcoming season.

Russell has a history of experimenting with hair during IPL
It must be noted that the all-rounder has a history of doing experiments with his hair during IPL. Last year, out of nowhere, Russell had decided to colour his hair blonde. While there is always a mystery around what one can expect from the all-rounder in terms of fitness and performance on the field, the KKR star has also developed a habit of creating the same mystery around his hairstyle as well.

After a rather disappointing campaign in IPL 2021, the 33-year-old would be hoping for a better individual show this season and repay the faith to his franchise who retained him for an amount of INR 12 crore.
