West Indies Andre Russell is a massive name in T20 franchise cricket. The hard-hitting all-rounder is a brute force and can change the momentum of the match in a matter of a few deliveries. Add to that, his fielding and bowling make him one of the best in the world in the shortest format of the game. Russell last plied his trade in the suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and his innings against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), where he scored 54 off just 22 deliveries has got to feature in one of the highlights of the first half of the competition. It wasn't an aberration and he has time and again played such knocks.

Now that Russell is set to feature in the remainder of the PSL in Abu Dhabi, the Quetta Gladiators star has showered huge praise for the tournament. He even termed it as one of the best leagues in the world, comparing it with the likes of IPL and the Caribbean Premier League.

"I play IPL, I play big bash or Caribbean Premier League. I play in other leagues around the world. And I’m definitely gonna say that PSL [is one of the top leagues around the world]. I just think it (quality of cricket and bowling talent) makes the league even tougher. So it’s among the top leagues," he told Geo News.

Should contribute in whatever way possible for Quetta Gladiators, says Russell

The 33-year-old said that although his franchise is at the bottom of the points table, he will contribute in whatever way possible. He added that it's a matter of a few games before the team can climb up the ladder.

"I should contribute in whatever way [possible]. I won’t get that sweet joy of lifting the cup with them, but I will know why they should bid towards that. And when you get a winning momentum, it is just confidence after confidence, and from game to game, you feel untouchable as a team so once you’re doing well, you will know what to do to win again," Russell said.
