Tennis sensation Andy Murray had recently revealed that his wedding ring and tennis shoes were stolen in the California desert. As the three-time major winner was preparing for action at the Indian Wells Masters, his followers on Instagram made an appeal to whomsoever concerned to return the same as they were nowhere to be found despite a thorough search.

To those who are not aware, the ace British tennis player had to appeal on his social media account for the return of his wedding ring. The 34-year-old revealed that he left his shoes under his car so that they would get dry but they were stolen by the next morning.

However, it was only when his physio inquired about the his wedding ring that he realised he had left it tied to the lace of his shoe. But as astonishing as it may seem, the Instagram appeals made by the followers of the two-time Olympic gold medallist helped him reunite with his shoe and wedding ring.

Murray appreciates help of his Instagram followers

In an Instagram video posted on Friday, Murray said, “I want to send a quick thanks for all the messages and for people sharing the story about the shoes and wedding ring.

“I had to make a few calls today and chat to security at the hotel and I have a little update for everyone.

“Would you believe it…they still absolutely stink but the shoes are back, the wedding ring is back and I’m back in the good books. Let’s go!”

Apart from this, Murray is all set to compete for the first time since 2017 at Indian Wells Masters. Having won his Round of 128 match against Adrian Mannarino in straight sets, the 34-year-old is expected to play his Round of 64 game against Carlos Alcaraz Garfia.
