Anthony Joshua’s heavyweight rematch with Oleksandr Usyk will take place in Saudi Arabia on August 20. The British boxer lost his first contest against the Ukrainian with the judges scoring the fight 117-112, 116-112 and 115-113 in favor of Oleksandr Usyk in London. A rematch clause was immediately activated but Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February made the face-off uncertain. However, now with Usyk available, the two boxers are ready to lock horns.

Anthony Joshua will be motivated to win back the WBA, IBF, and WBO titles he lost in September at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when the two fighters meet in Jeddah. Meanwhile, Usyk has said that he has a goal to achieve. “I have a goal, with the help of the Lord I will complete my mission!” said the Ukrainian boxer.

A happy fighter is a dangerous fighter: Anthony Joshua

Ahead of the much-anticipated clash between Joshua and Usyk, the British boxer has sent alarming words for his opponent. Joshua has said that he is really happy and motivated at the moment and pointed out that a happy fighter is more dangerous. “Fighting championship level back to back has had its pros and cons, but I decide every day to get stronger, to learn from my experiences and grow. A happy fighter is a dangerous fighter and I am the happiest and most motivated I have been,” said the Brit.

Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn also can’t wait for the fight to take place and has said that he is thrilled to get a rematch of one of the biggest Heavyweight matches. He also hoped for Joshua to reclaim what he lost in London. “We are thrilled to get one of the biggest Heavyweight rematches in boxing history made and give Anthony Joshua the chance to reclaim what he lost in London last September. Everything is on the line for this Unified World Heavyweight Championship bout and it could not be a bigger contest.
