Khamzat Chimaev is known for his bold remarks and fearless attitude both on and off the field. The Swedish wrestler does not shy away from a challenge and has challenged many big names in the past including the legendary Brock Lesnar. Borz burst onto the UFC in 2020 after registering a win over John Phillips. Following which he won against Rhys McKee, and Gerald Meerschaert establishing himself as a maestro in the UFC upon his 17-second win over Meerschaert.

However, the 27-year-old did go a little too far this time, as he went on to challenge Daniel Cormier for a wrestling match. “Let’s make a wrestling match brother what you think?,” Chimaev tweeted with a sarcastic emoji.

Daniel Cormier confronts with a dauntless reply

Responding to the 27-year-old’s tweet, wrestler-turned commentator Daniel Cormier gave a valiant reply to Chimaev. “In a real wrestling match? Are you crazy Khamzat? Love that you’re confident but brother this is 10-0 DC!” Cormier replied.

Khamzat recently secured a win over Jack Hermannson in a freestyle match. The match took place in two, three rounds at 187 pounds.

Chimaev to return to action early next year

The Swedish wrestler has been in a phenomenal form off late securing three UFC wins in just 66 days with promotion. The 27-year-old was away from the wrestling action for almost a year after he tested positive for COVID, followed by its lingering after-effects. However, he made a striking return as a registering a win against Li Jingliang in a 3-minute 16-second submission win. Moving forward, it’s expected that Borz will have to face the likes of Lion Edwards, Gilbert Burns and Vicente Luque in his upcoming matches.
