Premier League club Arsenal has expressed interest in Manchester City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko and is expected to formally bid for the player. Reports say that the Citizens would be open to doing sell Zinchenko if their valuation is met. The 25-year-old is a versatile player as he can cover a variety of positions, including left-back and central midfield.

Unfortunately for the Gunners, Manchester United are nearing the closing stages of completing the agreement with Ajax Amsterdam for Lisandro Martinez who was heavily linked with Arsenal. The 24-year-old has expressed a desire to reunite with Erik ten Hag and a deal in the region of £55m is being finalised.

If all things in the deal go as smoothly as United would like, Martinez should join up with their squad on their pre-season tour of Australia. The North-London-based club has also roped in another Manchester City player in Gabriel Jesus who completed his signing in the early portion of the transfer window. Both clubs agreed to a fee of £45m for the 25-year-old who has been making an instant impact in Arsenal’s pre-season games.

The Brazilian striker came off the bench at half-time with his side trailing 2-0 against FC Nurnberg and scored within 60 seconds. This was quickly followed by his second goal. His presence also pushed the Nunberg's defence into two own goals, which eventually helped the Gunners claim a 5-3 victory.

Gabriel is excited about playing in  North London as he said, "I'm so, so proud. I’m proud to be here at this big club," he said. "I’ve completed four or five days together with the lads, and I just want to say thank you to everyone at Arsenal because they make me feel at home. Everyone is talking, coming to me and saying ‘good luck, we are happy to have you here, and I’m happy to be here as well.

He continued, “That makes me feel at home. I’ve just come to be part of this amazing club, amazing team, and then to win together," he added. "I believe a lot in the project at this club. I can’t wait to play, at our amazing stadium."
