Whole world came to a halt when Stefanos Tsitsipas staged an upset at Australian Open 2021. The Greek Tennis ace knocked out Spanish Champion Rafael Nadal out of the tournament on Wednesday. Moreover, Nadal's exit came at brink of the win, leaving fans and critics even more shocked.

Tsitsipas and Nadal: Greek ace turn tables in Australia

The game between aces started with the Spaniard racing ahead by winning the first set by 6-3. Nadal further extended his dominance in the game by crushing Tsitsipas by 6-2 in the second set. At this point, nearly everyone had accepted that Nadal's dominance, but the drama had more to it. The third set saw Greek ace competing equally with the Spaniard to take the contest into deuce. From thereon, Tsitsipas somehow managed to outdo Nadal and win the set by 7-6.

Following it, Stefano utilized the much-needed boost to the fullest by bagging the fourth set by 6-4. The much anticipated Final set then went on long but Tsitsipas finally got better of Nadal, winning the tie-breaker set 7-5, ending Nadal's hopes of 21st Grand Slam.

What next in Australian Open 2021?

Having won against Nadal, Tsitsipas would have loved to celebrate, but a bigger challenge awaits. The Greek ace next faces Daniil Medvedev on Friday. The Russian got into semis after beating Andrey Rublev in three consecutive sets by 7-5, 6-3, 6-2. Another high-voltage clash also awaits in Women's Singles, where Naomi Osaka will clash against Serena Williams.

Naomi Osaka will enter the clash after beating Hsieh Su-wei by 6-2 and 6-2 in consecutive sets. On the other hand, American star Serena Williams also dominated her match, beating Romania's Simona Halep by 6-3 twice to secure her berth in semis.
