It is often said that anything can happen in a game of cricket. Well something unreal was witnessed in one of the domestic leagues in Australia. When majority of cricket enthusiast & fans are all glued to the ongoing T20 World Cup, an action packed day was seen in Australia also.

While an over consists of six balls usually, the number of balls bowled can exceed if a no ball or wide is bowled. Something similar happened in the ongoing North Suburban Community Cricket Association fixture. In a game between Sorrento Duncraig Senior Club & Kingsley-Woodvale Senior Club, Australian batter Sam Harrison achieved an incredible feat as he smashed eight sixes in an over.

Unaccepted! Unreal! Well whatever you think it might be but yes, it all unfolded in the 39th over of the game. Sorrento batter Harrison smashed 48 runs (8 sixes) off Nathan Bennett’s over.

Notably, this over in Western Australia D-Grade competition is said to be in contention for one of the worst overs being bowled in cricket history ever.

However, this is not the first time something like this has happened in a game of cricket. A similar incident was witnessed in the Indian Premier League when the ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle was batting. Gayle smashed 37 runs in an over bowled by Prashant Parameshwaran at the Wankhede Stadium. Ravindra Jadeja also managed the feat when he smacked Harshal Patel for the same amount of runs at Wankhede earlier this year.
