Preview:

On Boxing day at the Australian T20 League, there are two matches lined up on the day. While the first one of them witnesses Sydney Thunders up against Sydney Sixers at the Sydney Showground Stadium, the second will see Perth Scorchers go head to head against Melbourne Renegades at the Marvel Stadium. While three of the four teams set to be in action on Sunday- Perth Scorchers (top of the table), Sydney Sixers (second place) Sydney Thunder (fourth place) are sitting in the first half of the points table, it is the Renegades who haven’t quite got going this season so far and have just managed to win one match out of their four. Lots to look forward to then in the contest of the business end on this double-header day.

Analysis:

It is expected to be a tightly contested game between Sydney Thunder and the Sydney Sixers. So for heads up, try and compose the Fantasy XI with a 6-5 squad ratio while selecting players from both sides. In an extension to that point, Josh Philippe and  Sam Billings could both the picked in the Fantasy XI with Philliple’s selection becoming more and more obvious with the kind of form he has shown with the bat. Moreover, he is a top-order batter and that gives him the opportunity to face the most number of balls and leave a drastic impact on the match apart from his keeping skills. Sam Billings will be a surety and if he gets to bat, he hasn’t been that bad either.

Pick as many as the balance of the squad allows. Daniel Sams, Moises Henriques, Daniel Christian and Ben Cutting are all great options with the first three having made impactful performances in the tournament already. Tanveer Sangha, Chris Jordan, Hayden Kerr and Saqib Mahmood appear to be the best bowling option to choose from at this stage.

In the second match, the pitch is likely to be of a similar kind. Cameron Bancroft who is listed as a wicketkeeping option should be considered since he bats at the top of the order although it is unlikely that he will have the wicketkeeping duties for this game. Sam Harper won’t be that bad an option either. Aaron Finch, Colin Munro, Nic Maddinson and Ashton Turner among others are the batters to choose from but the selection or omission of Finch could be a tricky one. Although he hasn’t set the tournament on fire, he bats at the top of the order which might prompt users to select him once again.

Yet another match where there are plenty of all-around options. Mitchell Marsh, Ashton Agar, Mohammad Nabi and Will Sutherland are the best options and while Marsh has been in a league of his own since the T20 World Cup, Agar has been equally impressive. Kane Richardson, Andrew Tye, Jason Behrendorff and Zahir Khan are the bowlers who can be trusted for a place in the Fantasy XI based on current form and reputation.
