Australia ended up defeating Pakistan by 5 wickets in second semi-finals of T20 World Cup 2021. Matthew Wade's 41*(17) won the match for Aussies from a no win situation and his knock drew parallel with Michael Hussey's knock against Pakistan in 2010 T20 WC.

Pakistan bowlers breathed fire in 2nd innings as Shaheen Afridi started off his spell beautifully and restricted Aussies for 96/5 at one stage but Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade's 81 run unbeaten partnership sealed the game for Australia with an over remaining.
