Day 1 of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction saw big names in the cricketing world from around the globe go under the hammer. While Ishan Kishan ended the day as the most expensive player of this edition, Yuzvendra Chahal went for an amount less than what he would have expected. Rajasthan Royals got hold of India's top leggie as they bought him for 6.5 Crores at the mega auction. Chahal may have got less than what he would have wanted but the right-arm leg spinner was happy to join hands with a new franchise after serving RCB for more than seven years.
Rajasthan Royals also welcomed the cricketer wholeheartedly in the pink army. The Instagram chat between Chahal and RR admin also confirmed the same. In a post shared by RR on Twitter, the screenshot of the conversation between Chahal and the Rajasthan-based franchise was shown. At the beginning of the conversation, Chahal asks RR about how they are doing, he then goes on to warn them to stay cautious of him.

"Toh kaise hai aap log" asks Chahal at the beginning of the chat. To which RR admin replies "Kaafi achhe hain, dheere dheere aapko pata chalega". Chahal then says "Follow kar nhi rahe aap kya toh bolen, bach ke rahiyega kam ham bhi nhi hai". In the end Chahal says "Achi banegi humari, milne ka wait hai bus".

Rajasthan also rope in R Ashwin to partner Chahal
Apart from buying Yuzvendra Chahal, Rajasthan Royals also roped in R Ashwin. They got Ashwin for 5 Crores. KC Cariappa has also been roped in to aid the two spinners. Another ex-RCB player, Devdutt Paddikal was also bought by RR, probable as a backup opener. In the fast-bowling department, RR got Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna.
