The Formula 1 2022 season opener, the Bahrain Grand Prix is almost here. The practices are done, and all teams are well prepared to rock the Bahrain International Circuit. While Hamilton is ready to roll with his new yellow helmet, Aston Martin will miss the services of Sebastian Vettel. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen looks all set to carry their form from practice to the main race.

Mercedes have a few worries to address but they will hope for the seven-time champion Hamilton to show his class. While the focus stays on the Red Bull vs Mercedes rivalry, Ferrari prepares to surprise everyone with their F1-75. Charles Leclerc afforded himself a little smile after Friday’s practice which means he is feeling the confidence of driving a brand-new vehicle.

With the Bahrain GP all set to kick off the 2022 season on Sunday, here is all you need to know about it.

Where is Bahrain GP 2022 taking place?

The season opener is taking place at the 5.412 km long Bahrain International Circuit in Shakir. The track hosted its first-ever Grand Prix in 2004.

What is the track like?

One can usually expect great racing and decent amounts of overtaking in Bahrain, while the drivers have to contend with wind, racing under floodlights, and the difficulty of finding a decent set-up with the wide temperature fluctuations between sessions. The track’s most challenging point is the tight, downhill, off-camber turn 10, while the fast run through turn 12 is another highlight allowing the racers to really feel their cars coming alive.
