Preview

When Bangladesh and Australia meet for the first T20I on Tuesday, it will be their first meet in a bilateral arrangement. Their previous four meetings in the shortest form of the game have all come in the T20 World Cup. However, the teams will identify this as an opportunity to fill the missing block in the puzzle of the World Cup scheduled later this year in the United Arab Emirates. Although the Aussies have won all the previous four matches, the Bangla Tigers will look to change that record especially against this Kangaroo side that has quite a few weaknesses and will be playing without Aaron Finch. Lots to look forward to in the series.

Analysis

While Bangladesh will be without the likes of Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das for several reasons including injury and bio-bubble breach, they may look to add reinforcements in their spin attack. Hence, left-arm bowler Taijul Islam, who has only played two T20Is as well as Mosaddek Hossain could be given a chance in the beginning of the series. As far as Australia are concerned, Matthew Wade could promote himself up the order. Meanwhile, there will be a lot of pressure on Moises Henriques as he struggled against the West Indies and he may lose his place to Alex Carey whose T20I numbers aren't encouraging too. Meanwhile, Ben McDermott is available and is likely to be picked in the XI.
