Time: 1:30 PM IST

Venue: Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka

Preview:

Bangladesh will host Pakistan for the third T20I of the three-match series at Dhaka on Monday. Pakistan have already clinched the first two matches and have claimed the series with a match to go while Bangladesh gave a good fight in the series opener, they were outplayed by the visiting team in the second game. All of it makes the final showdown a fascinating game where the Babar Azam-led side would sense a chance at a clean sweep while the hosts would want to prevent that embarrassment and sign off the series on a winning note.

Head-to-head

Pitch Report: So far there has not been a high-scoring match at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in this series and if that continues to be the trend, a total of 150-160 could turn out to be a match-winning. Anything around 140 will be competitive but will need a great bowling effort to defend. The pacers will be more useful on this surface with a hint of purchase for the spinners.

Team Analysis:

Bangladesh: Bangladesh have blown hot and cold in the recent outings and it would be fair to say that they have underperformed. Before the T20 World Cup, they had proved themselves as one of the better sides in world cricket through performances against top teams but the Bangla tigers would want to sustain that form for a prolonged period to show their dominance worldwide.

Bangladesh did include Kamrul Islam Rabbi and Parvez Hossain in their side for the remaining T20I fixture, it would be interesting to see the balance they go ahead with for this match, especially with Saif Hassan joining the Test probables.

Pakistan: Meanwhile Pakistan can sense this as an opportunity to test their bench strength and give an opportunity to the likes of Sarfaraz Ahmed and Shahnawaz Dahani who have warmed the benches. They would like to believe that they are a good enough side to beat Bangladesh- especially Bangladesh which turned up for the second team and drawing confidence from their own performance in the series so far as well as in the T20 World Cup.

Squads:

Bangladesh: Mohammad Naim, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Afif Hossain, Mahmudullah (c), Nurul Hasan (wk), Mahedi Hasan, Aminul Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Yasir Ali, Akbar Ali, Nasum Ahmed, Shahidul Islam, Shamim Hossain, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Parvez Hossain

Pakistan: Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Babar Azam (c), Fakhar Zaman, Haider Ali, Shoaib Malik, Khushdil Shah, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Usman Qadir, Asif Ali, Imad Wasim, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shahnawaz Dahani

Match Prediction

Conclusion: Pakistan are favourite to complete a whitewash in this series from this situation. While it did look like they were going to be 0-1 down at one stage, they are too good a side on current form and with the kind of players that they have to let this opportunity go away. While it is true that they could rest a few of their frontline players and give a chance to some others, Pakistan still have the advantage especially with news of niggles to Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam who could too miss the final match.
