Robert-Lewandowski

Barcelona has officially announced the signing of last year's Ballon d'Or runner-up Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich. The Polish striker has netted 50 goals across all club competitions in the last season. His 2021-22 calendar year marks his seventh consecutive season where he has scored at least 40 goals.

Barcelona and Bayern Munich had reportedly reached an agreement for the transfer of Robert Lewandowski for a €45 million fee, with €5m in potential add-ons. He has also scored a total of 33 goals across the last three Champions League campaigns which is seven more than his closest rival, Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema with 26 goals.

The Blaugrana posted a video of Lewandowski’s arrival on their Twitter account where the Polish striker said, “Finally I am here, very happy to be here. The last two days were very long but in the end, the deal is done and now I can focus on the new chapter of my life.”

Great players have also left FC Bayern in the past: Kahn

Bayern Munich CEO and former goalkeeper Oliver Kahn also confirmed the departure of the 34-year-old striker and thanked the Polish international for his great service. Khan said, "We have agreed to release Robert Lewandowski. We have a verbal agreement with FC Barcelona, the contract is still pending. We know very well what we have to thank Robert for, but great players have also left FC Bayern in the past, and even after that, Bayern's world did not fall apart. On the contrary, it often continued with even more success."
