The three-match ODI series between India and England kick-started on Tuesday (12th July) at Kennington Oval, in London. While India was hoping to put a full-strength squad against England, India's former skipper Virat Kohli was ruled out of the first ODI due to a groin injury he recently sustained.

Virat Kohli, who has been out of form for a while now continued his horrific show in the rescheduled fifth Test match, followed by two T20Is he played against England. In the fifth Test, Kohli managed to score 11 and 20 in the first and second innings respectively, before managing scores of 1 and 11 in the two T20Is against the hosts.

India's dynamic batter who has been receiving a lot of criticism from all quarters and questions have been raised on his inclusion in the squad, was once again targetted by the England cricket’s supporter group, 'The Barmy Army' which tried to take a sly dig at the Indian batter by sharing a cryptic post on Twitter. The Barmy Army shared a screenshot of Google dictionary where the English word 'dropped' was searched with the results showing 'a mild groin strain' popped up suggesting the batter was left out by the management.l

The Barmy Army tried to pull Kohli's leg for missing out on the first ODI match against England, but the post didn't go down well with Indian cricket fans who were quick to highlight the poor performance of England's top-order.

Check out the post below.

In the ODI series opener in Oval, England's top-order succumbed to India's pace attack as the hosts were soon reduced to 26/5 in 7.5 overs. Jason Roy (0 off 5), Joe Root (0 off 2), Jonny Bairstow (7 off 20), and Liam Livingstone (0 off 8) became the victims of Jasprit Bumrah's brilliance with the bowl, while Mohammed Shami was equally impressive having picked a couple of wickets already.
