Perth Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers are ready to lock horns against each other in match number 9, on Saturday at the Perth Stadium in Perth. Both the teams will be riding high after their victory in their last matches.
Strikers started their campaign on a low note after facing a defeat at the hands of Kane Richardson’s Melbourne Renegades. But the team avenged their defeat by comprehensively winning by 49 runs against the same opponent in the next game. Whereas, Scorchers, on the other hand, began their campaign with a six-run victory over Brisbane Heat.
Head to Head:
The pitch is going to favour the team batting first. Putting runs on the board, and chasing it afterwards should be the captains’ approach.
With the likes of Colin Munro, Cameron Bancroft (wk) and Ashton Turner, the batting looks solid, whereas performances of the bowling unit earned them victory in their last match. Mathew Kelly’s four-wicket haul in the last match, while Andrew Tye and Jason Behrendorff chipping in at the right time proved the team’s collective effort during the last match.
Strikers bounced back in their last match by defeating Melbourne Renegades by 49 runs. However, they did lose their first match against the same opponent. Rashid Khan and Wes Agar bowled impressive spells and as a result of their dominant performance, Strikers crossed the winning line comprehensively.
Perth Scorchers-: Colin Munro, Cameron Bancroft (wk), Kurtis Patterson, Laurie Evans, Ashton Turner (c), Aaron Hardie, Ashton Agar, Andrew Tye, Matthew Kelly, Jason Behrendorff, Peter Hatzoglou
Adelaide Strikers-: Jake Weatherland, Matthew Short, Harry Nielsen (wk), Jonathan Wells, Ryan Gibson, Daniel Drew, George Garton, Rashid Khan, Daniel Worrall, Wes Agar, Peter Siddle (c)
Conclusion-: Despite, Scorchers starting their campaign on a high note, Strikers are sailing high with their comprehensive win against Renegades. Their bowling unit is strong and with the kind of performance they had in their last match the team will be favourite to win against Scorchers.
